Radha’s Divine Play: Creating Little Krishna
One bright afternoon in the forests of Vrindavan, young Radha was lost in a playful reverie. Her mind, as always, was filled with thoughts of Krishna—His mischievous smile, His soft curls, and His enchanting eyes. But Krishna was nowhere in sight. A sudden wave of longing swept over her, and a playful idea bloomed in her heart.
With the innocence of a child and the grace of a goddess, Radha knelt by the soft earth. Gathering clay from the banks of the Yamuna, she shaped it with her delicate hands. Slowly, she molded a tiny, perfect figure—a little Krishna, as she imagined Him, with round cheeks and chubby hands. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she painted His form in her mind: a crown of peacock feathers, a sweet smile, and a gentle charm that could steal anyone’s heart.
Satisfied with her creation, Radha placed the clay figure on a small jhula (swing) made of twigs and flowers. As the swing began to move gently, she sang a lullaby, her voice brimming with love. The wind, carrying the melody, seemed to hum along.
To her astonishment, something magical happened. The lifeless clay figure began to glow faintly, as if touched by divine grace. Radha’s heart skipped a beat as the little Krishna opened His eyes and gave her a mischievous smile. She giggled in delight, overwhelmed by the sight of this tiny form of her beloved.
“Lala, swing gently now!” Radha cooed as she pushed the swing, watching the tiny Krishna sway back and forth, laughing along with her. Flowers from the trees above showered down, and the forest animals gathered in awe, enchanted by the scene.
As she swung Him higher, the little Krishna clapped His hands with glee. Time seemed to stand still in that moment of pure love, as Radha poured her entire soul into this playful act, feeling His presence more deeply than ever before.
In those quiet woods of Vrindavan, Radha’s heart knew no separation, for wherever Krishna was—whether in her dreams, in the clay, or in her soul—He was always hers to cherish, love, and play with.
